A Narrated Tour: "On Death and Dying"

The Victorian Lady Visits Vale Sunday, November 1st, 2015 at 2:00 p.m.

Sue McLane, the Victorian Lady, will lead a 2 hour guided tour through this historic cemetery as "a woman in mourning for lost ones." Dressed in antique clothing, Sue is an award winning historic interpreter studying the social history of the 19th century as an independent scholar since 1991.

We'll meet at the caretaker's cottage 907 State Street and start off at 2 p.m. in the transport buses stopping at over a dozen different places in the 100 acre cemetery. Sue will share information about death and dying in the 19th century, diseases and their treatment, mourning customs and their origins and the development of Vale as a non-denominational urban resting place.

A donation of $7 per person is suggested with children under 12 years of age admitted free. For more information please call 346-0423.
